Dallas Mavericks star Rodrigue Beaubois confessed his debility for football ahead of tomorrow's match against Barça Regal
The Dallas Mavericks will face Barça Regal tomorrow in the team’s second match of the NBA Europe Live 2012 tour at 21.00 at the Palau Sant Jordi. But it’s not all business for the Texan team as they visit the Catalan capital. The Mavs, including Rodrigue Beaubois, who’s enjoying his fourth season with Dallas, watched the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid last night at the Camp Nou.
“I’m a football fanatic”
Beaubois is a professional basketball player, but his athletic career could have been very different. “I played a lot of football with my friends, but the first club team I played on was a basketball team,” said the Frenchman. The Dallas Mavericks player admitted, however, that he keeps an eye on of the most popular sport on the other side of the Atlantic: “I watch football every chance I get, I’m a huge fan.”
After witnessing the Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, the Frenchman said that he’s “impressed with Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.” He added, “the atmosphere in the Camp Nou was incredible. It’s the first time I’ve watched a football match in such a big stadium.”
“I want to help the team”
When asked about the upcoming season, Beaubois said: “I’m happy to be healthy. I picked up an ankle injury, but I’ve completely recovered. My goal for next season is to help the team win as many matches as possible.”
