FC Barcelona, led by Sandro Rosell, started off the Diada Nacional de Catalonia with the traditional floral offering a the monument of Rafael Casanova
Memorial at the Ciutadella
FC Barcelona was represented by vice-president Carles Vilarrubí and the director Jordi Moix at the main event of the September 11 memorial, organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Catalonia Parliament at the Parc de la Ciutadella waterfall.
Rosell to attend the event in personal capacity
The vice-president of the institutional area Carles Vilarrubí confirmed that Sandro Rosell would be present at the September 11 gathering. “On a collective level we all went to Rafael Casanova’s monument and to the event at the Ciutadella. In the afternoon the president and a couple of the directors, with their families, will attend events in a personal capacity.”
September 11 – Catalonia celebrates the Diada with a day full of events and floral offerings at the monument of Rafeal Casanova. The FC Barcelona delegation, led by Sandro Rosell, paid its respects as laid a floral offering at the Casanova monument.
The FC Barcelona president was accompanied by vice-presidents Carles Villarrubí and Jordi Cardoner, the directors Jordi Moix, Jordi Monés, Jordi Mestre, Joan Bladé and Josep Ramon Vidal-Abarca.
The represented teams
Barça professional sports teams, as well as the FCB Women’s football, La Masia and youth football teams were also represented at the floral offering -Roger Riera (Juvenil A), Àlex Corredera (Juvenil B), Enric Franquesa (Cadete A), Victor de Joaquin (Infantil B), Pau Ruiz (Alevín B) and Jan Reixach (Alevín C) layed the Barça crest at the Casanova monument.
The first team manager, accompanied by Carles Puyol, was also present. Xavi Pascual and Víctor Tomás represented the handball team, and Marc Carmona and Jordi Torras represented the futsal team. Representatives from Barça Regal and the roller hockey team could not attend due to athletic engagements. The Women’s football team, champions of the Liga and Copa Catalonia, were represented by Xavi Llorens and Ana Escribano.
Barça Veteran Players Association
The Barça Veteran Players Association accompanied the FC Barcelona delegation this morning. The president of the ABJ, Ramon Alfonseda, vice-president, Ferran Olivella, and the ex-player Pere Valentí Mora also placed a floral offering at the Casanova monument.
