From The Bench is a Spanish technology company specialised in the promotion and development of interactive social games related to sport. Founded in 2007, FTB offers a variety of multiplatform games associated with teams in the Champions League. From The Bench also developed the official application FC Barcelona Fantasy Manager.
After the success of FC Barcelona Fantasy Manager, FC Barcelona is now offering its fans and members the sixth official application: FCB Starscup. The Club and From the Bench are launching a new iPhone game, which will build on the strategy to exploit the potential of mobile apps.
FCBarcelona Starscup is a digital card-playing strategy game in which users interact in real time with others around the world in games lasting between 1 and 3 minutes. Each user has to play his cards better than his or her opponent in order to win the game. FCBarcelona Starscup users can compete with others around the world, against clubs from both the Spanish Liga and the Champions League.
This social game is totally free and has been developed by From The Bench. It is the seventh official FC Barcelona application for iPhones after FCB Watch, FCB World Tap, FCB Fantasy Manager, FCB Live!, FCB World and FCB Regal Shootout.
The first version of FCB Starscup is available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
For Dídac Lee, director responsible for new technologies, FCB Starscup is “an initiative that’s based on the concept of allowing a worldwide community of gamers to interact with each other.” According to Lee, this new application reaffirms the Club’s FCB Apps program and Barça’s smartphone and mobile strategy.
