FC Barcelona presents FCB iCroms, the first digital experience for collectors. The new social platform allows users to acquire a multimedia package with exclusive and dynamic content for each of the first-team players, Barça legends and Barça’s historic performances. Each multimedia package is dedicated to a specific content type (photos, videos, statistics, matches and special promotions). All multimedia packages are totally customizable.
FCB iCroms is an experience that can be shared with other followers and collectors on Facebook (www.facebook.com/icroms) where you will also be able to comment on the different content types, look up iCroms that you may be missing and find out your global collector ranking.
How do you get them?
To collect the entire series and enjoy the whole iCroms catalogue, users must visit www.icroms.com and trade or buy the 123 iCroms. The digital version of the traditional playing card albums, the iCroms Box, are free to users that register by April 27th. Users that register by this time will receive five iCroms for free on the first week and an additional five in the following week if said users make a minimum iCroms purchase. Furthermore, the most active fans, those who complete the collection, will earn a privileged place in the global collectors ranking; not only will these users be given free iCroms cards but they will also be entered into a draw and be eligible for exclusive games.
The evolution of playing cards to the digital realm
Dídac Lee, New Technologies Director for FC Barcelona, defined FCB iCroms as “the evolution of paper playing cards to the digital realm for a new generation of Barça fans. It’s a global product for Club members and fans.” While, Óscar Salvadó, online marketing director for iCroms adds “the objective is that each one of the multimedia packages or bins will allow fans to relive feelings and emotions that they’ve collected throughout their years of being a Barça fan. From the goals of Zaldúa or Rexach to Messi’s, including the best team performances in the history of the Club.”
iPhone, iPad and Android versions of FCB iCroms are currently in production. Users will be able to access content, trade iCroms and interact with each other through mobile platforms.
