Barça Regal claimed their 13th consecutive victory in all competitions this Sunday afternoon. The Blaugrana, who were without Navarro, defeated UCAM Murcia thanks to superb performances from Tomic, Oleson and Mickeal. The game was relatively even throughout the first half, but the Blaugrana pulled away in the third.
Barça Regal’s play was fluid but it wasn’t enough to build a commanding lead over UCAM Murcia. The home team, who were on fire from the three point line, knocked down five three pointers in the first two quarters. The scoreboard showed 23 to 21 for Murcia. With Tomic’s help on defence, Barça Regal battled back to take the lead thanks to a very incisive Brad Oleson (27-35). The Blaugrana continued their run (5 to 16) even after Murcia were forced to call time out. The teams went to the break with 32 to 42 on the scoreboard.
Murcia’s game plan was exclusively focused on shots from beyond the three point line while Barça Regal’s was a bit more balanced. Tomic and Mickeal rallied Barça Regal to a 15-point lead (45-60) in the third quarter, and in the fourth the Blaugrana increased their lead to 17 points. The game came to an end with 62 to 79 for the Blaugrana.
