During the press conference, Joan Creus talked about Víctor Sada and Chuck Eidon’s ongoing contract extension negotiations. On the Catalan he said: “we’re very close to reaching a deal. We’ll give our response shortly and I think it will be positive for both parties.” On the American: “we planned for him to join the team next week if he’s given a good offer. If that’s the case, he’ll take it, if not, he has a contract with us and he’ll join our team.”
Ante Tomic, Barça Regal’s first signing of the 2012/13 season, was officially presented this Thursady afternoon at the Camp Nou’s Richard Maxenchs Prese Room. The new Azulgrana player was clear: “I’m very pleased to be here in Barcelona, I’ll give it my all to win games and titles.” He added: “I want the Liga ACB. I had a good chance to win it last season, but I wasn’t able to do it. Now I want to win with Barça.”
The tallest player on the Azulgrana roster, who is “eager to get on the court," explained why he’s excited to be part of Barça Regal’s future plans: “we have a young team. There are great players in each position and I believe we’ll play a modern style of basketball.” Tomic believes that Barça’s style, which leans heavily on its interior players, is more suited to his personal style of play than that of his ex-team’s, Real Madrid.
