The city of Barcelona will be treated to yet another spectacular basketball encounter when the Dallas Mavericks take on Barça Regal at the Palau Sant Jordi this evening at 21.00. After Barça Regal's defeat in the Spanish Super Cup and two consecutive losses in the Liga Endesa, the NBA Europe Live 2012 matchup looks to be the ideal setting for Xavi Pascual’s men to re-find the form they had that led them to last year’s successful title bid.

Stars set to meet on the court

The match will pit some of the best basketball players on the planet against each other. One that stands above the rest is the German Dirk Nowitzki, the hero of the Texan team that claimed the 2011 NBA title. Vince Carter, O.J. Mayo and Navarro, Jasikevicius and company will also feature in the star-studded match. One thing is for sure, the Palau Sant Jordi will host a spectacular showdown that's sure to delight any spectator.

Close call for Mavs against Alba Berlin

Last season the Dallas Mavericks were denied a chance to reclaim their title when Oklahoma City stormed to a 0-4 series victory in the first round of the playoffs. Three days ago, the team managed by Rick Carlisle narrowly edged Alba Berlin by 84 to 89 in their first match of the NBA Europe Live 2012 tour.
