MVP Raphinha shines in Paris

Brazilian nets the first of FC Barcelona's two goals at the Parc des Princes

FC Barcelona are bringing back a 3-2 lead from Wednesday's Champions League second leg at PSG, and two-goal hero Raphinha played a very important part in that achievement.

The Brazilian was the obvious choice for the MVP prize following one of his best ever performances in a Barça jersey. He opened the scoring by pouncing on the end of a clearance after 37 minutes, and in the second half, and just after the French side had turned things around to lead 2-1, he was on the end of the masterful long ball forward from Pedri to first-time volley home the equaliser.

Before tonight, Raphinha had never scored in the Champions League. Now he's done it twice.

"I'd been hoping for a Champions League goal for so long" he said afterwards. "So this was very special for me. It's also important for the team, because we knew that winning tonight was basic."

Next Tuesday at 9pm CEST, hopefully he can again be as decisive as he was tonight.
