Barça Atlètic 1-0 CD Eldense: Win against the joint leader

A great three points. Barça Atlètic edged out CD Eldense 1-0, winning against one of the best teams in the division. Víctor Barberà's goal in the 63th minute proved decisive, with Rafa Márquez' side now on 22 points.

Chances but no goals

Ilias Akhomach was the first to pose danger with a shot over the bar after eight minutes. The home side continued to push for a goal and good pass through the lines by Alvaro Sanz almost led to a goal for Roberto, but Guillermo Vallejo saved. Meanwhile, Arnau Tenas at the other end saved from Francisco Carnicer and Toni Abada. An end to end game, but goalless at the break.

Víctor Barberà makes the breakthrough

Eldense tested Arnau Tenas after the break with a free kick by Pardo before Janto Ortuño missed the rebound. Barça Atlètic then came back and got their reward. Substitute Víctor Barberà scored on 63 minutes, assisted by Txus Alba. This settled down the home side who had more control, with more chances coming, Vallejo stretching to prevent Luismi Cruz making it 2-0. Eldense then had their moments and chances before the game ended, but Arnau Tenas and defence stood firm.
