Barça B 0-2 San Fernado CDI: First home defeat of the season

Reserves have plenty of chances of their own, but the visitors prove more effective in front of goal

Barça B had plenty of chances to get a result out of this game, but San Fernando took their own when they came and have inflicted the first home defeat of the season on the reserves.

They started in dominant fashion, and both Rodado and Matheus had great early chances, although San Fernando hit the crossbar through Callejón and eventually took the lead when Bicho pounced on the rebound after Iñaki Peña had blocked a free kick.

More chances went begging for Barça B before their trouble was doubled when Ferrón converted a fine cross from Bibiany to put the visitors two-up.

Sergi Barjuan’s side battled long and hard to get back into contention in the second half. Comas’ sent one effort skimming wide off the post and Matheus very nearly scored direct from a corner and also hit the bar from a free kick.

It’s a game Barça B certainly didn’t deserve to lose, but football does these things sometimes, and the Estadi Johan Cruyff witnessed its first defeat of the season.
