Pioneering sports photojournalist Horaci Seguí passes away

His relationship with Barça stretched for forty years from 1963 to 2003

Photographer Horacio Seguí has passed away. Born in Barcelona on 5 April 1930, Horaci Seguí was a pioneering photojournalist, capturing events at the end of the 1950s, going on to become a reference in his field in the country. Despite working extensively in other fields, his name was always linked with Barça because of his forty year relationship with the Club from 1963 to 2003. He and his brother Rafa Seguí ended up amassing around 250,000 photographs of all things blaugrana. These photos were published in the form of series and single pieces in many outlets, including the Revista Barça and the Revista Barcelonista.

FC Barcelona acquired the Seguí brothers' blaugrana collection in 2006, a superb collection of photos from Barça's history over four decades. The collection is currently archived in the Club's Documentation and Study Centre.
