Congo Legends 1-4 Barça Legends: Braces for Saviola and Giovanni

The Barça Legends put on a show in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where they beat a local legends side 4-1 thanks a two goals from Giovanni and two from Javier Saviola. 

The blaugranes did not waste much time in getting on the scoresheet with Argentinian Saviola firing home after a pass from Ludovic Giuly. The same player added another to his account and a second for Chapi Ferrer's team on the quarter of an hour mark, latching on to a rebound after Giovanni's effort had been saved. 

Scorer turned provider 

Just two minutes later the Brazilian was amongst the goals himself with Saviola turning provider. Giovanni grabbed a second for himself to make it 4-0 on the half hour mark with a shot from outside the area. 

Barça Legends chased a fifth and Babangida had a shot that come back off the post. The local side were looking for a consolation goal in front of the fervent home support. Barça keeper Guzmán made a couple of important saves before he was finally beaten by Lualua on 48 minutes. 

Giovanni rattled the post as he almost claimed a hat-trick but there were no more goals before the final whistle. 

Barça love in Africa 

The fans in the national stadium in Kinshasa enjoyed a great afternoon of football courtesy of the Barça Legends and their local rivals with the blaugranes continuing their efforts to bring Barça to Africa following similar visits to Mozambique, Morroco and Zambia
