Unicaja Malaga 73-75 Barça: Winning streak continues

A game that looked done and dusted ends in a close finish, but the blaugrana hold on to add another victory to their rapidly expanding collection

Barça have maintained their 100 per cent record both in the Euroleague (5/5) and la Liga Endesa (7/7) with a win on Sunday against Unicaja Málaga (73-75).

The blaugrana got off to an emphatic start, Calathes, Mirotic and Davies all excelling as they built up a big lead in the first period (11-23).

The scoring dried up a little in the second period, but the defence stayed strong to ensure that the 12-point lead remained intact (23-35).

The scoring from both sides became more prolific in period three, with Kuric provinf deadly from the three to keep the same kind of lead going (49-58).

But just when Barça looked to be cruising, Unicaja found late surge. Ten uncontested points totally changed the shape of the game, and the gap was suddenly down to two (70-72). Instead of what had been expected to be a gentle ending, it was instead high tension stuff, and it took a late display of expertise to make sure Barça came awau with the win to stay riding high at the top of the Liga Endesa.
