Barça Lassa beats Vendrell, 5–1

Barça wins its third straight in the OK League to provisionally take over first place

Barça Lassa rolled to a 5–1 victory over Vendrell at the Palau Blaugrana on Saturday, its third straight win in the OK League.

The triumph puts Barça into first place provisionally, pending the outcome of Liceo’s game at Palafrugell, which is set for Sunday.

Despite the final score, it was Vendrell that took an early lead, when Mudarra tipped a long-range shot by Jordi ‘Ferreti’ past the Barça goalkeeper and into the net for a 1–0 lead.

Ignacio Alabart tied things up just two minutes later, and the game went into the intermission with the score tied at 1–1.

Barça dominated the second half, however, sinking visiting Vendrell with a four-goal onslaught.

Pau Bargalló gave Barça a 2–1 lead in the 32nd, combining nicely with Pablo Álvarez.

Then, with just 10 minutes left to play and Barça clinging to a one-goal lead, Lucas Ordoñez popped out from behind the Vendrell net and scored with a brilliant crossing shot to make it 3–1.

Xavi Barroso added Barça’s fourth just four minutes later, with a perfectly deposited penalty shot into the upper corner.

Álvarez then stashed home a rebound in the 50th minute to make it 5–1.
