Barça won an absolute thriller in Girona on Saturday night, a game where the lead changed hands several five times before they eventually sealed it by a three-goal margin.

Barroso, Panadero and Pablo Álvarez contributed to goals each and Lucas Ordóñez added the other following a stunning solo run.

Girona scored first, but Barroso’s two goals put Barça in front. The home side then responded with two goals of their own, a free and a penalty, to get back in front.

Pablo Álvarez equalised, but Girona were soon back level. The game could have gone anywhere, but two quick penalties put Barça back in front and from then on it was full steam ahead to victory.

So, that’s the first of three big games this week out of the way. Tuesday brings a tricky trip to second placed Liceo.
