Sergi Fernández to stay at Barça Lassa until 2018

The blaugrana keeper's contract came to an end on 30 June but he has not extended for two more seasons

Sergi Fernández will continue as Barça Lassa roller hockey goalkeeper for another two season. The Club have activated an extension clause which prolongs the blaugrana’s contract with the team until 30 June 2018. The Mallorca born player has been at the Club for six seasons and his new deal will keep him at Barça for another two at least.

Sergi Fernández has developed year after year with Barça Lassa, sharing goalkeeping duties brilliantly with Aitor Egurrola in the last few seasons. His performances have been key in helping the team to its recent successes, most notably in the 2014/15 European League Final Four where he helped Barça claim their 20th European Cup. More recently in Reus in the month of February, he helped his side in their Copa del Rey campaign, conceding just two goals in three matches.

Fernández has won 15 trophies since arriving at the Club in the summer of 2010 and the great challenge for the acrobatic shot stopper is to reach 17 before the end of the current campaign with the OK League and the European League still up for grabs.
