Italian League and Super Cup champions first visitors to Palau Blaugrana as tournament maintains same format as previous seasons

The Roller Hockey European League returns on Sunday with Barça Lassa looking to win the continental crown for the 22nd time. The opening game at the Palau gets going at 12-30 against Italian champions Breganze.

The other teams in Barça’s group are Porto, home of former FCB man Reinaldo Garcia, and Iserlohn of Germany. The top two teams progress to the quarter finals, where they will play one of the qualifiers from a strong Group D, which features Liceo (Spain), Oliveirense (Portugal), Viareggio (Italy) and Basel (Switzerland).

Hockey Breganze is the same team that Barça beat in the semi-finals of the Final Four last term. They are now managed by Mirco de Girone who has just signed Catalans Álvaro Borja Giménez and Gerard Teixidó to his team, as well as goalkeeper Alberto Zanin.
