Barça just keeps on winning in the League, this time with a courageous triumph away from home over a valiant Lleida. The match was actually much closer than the final 7-2 score would indicate, as they raced out to a 2-0 lead and were able to hang on only due to the clutch play of Marc Torra, who stood between Lleida and a possible victory.

FC Barcelona dominated in the early going, although a strong Lleida defence and counter attack promised to keep things interesting. A pair of superhuman stops by Aitor Egurrola followed by a Raül Marín penalty and a Matías Pascual counter attack finish put the score at 2-0 and forced Lleida to call timeout.

The hosts responded with a goal that got their hopes up, if only briefly. Another penalty, this time by Torra, expanded Barça’s lead to 3-1 at the break.

Upon resumption, Lleida’s Trilla rifled in a shot from afar to keep his team in the game. But once again, Torra came to the rescue with a 35th minute goal. Barroso got the next one to give Barça some breathing room until Pascual dashed Lleida’s hopes once and for all with two goals in ten seconds, both coming in the final minute of play.
