Marc Torra will be an Azulgrana for four more years. The current Pichichi of the OK Liga and MVP of the competition and the Copa del Rey has extended his contract with FC Barcelona through the end of the 2015/16 season.

Torra, who will complete his third year at Barça after the 2012/13 season, was set to complete his old contract on June 30 of 2013. The player is pleased that he’ll continue with the Club through 2016: “I’m very pleased to be able to extend my contract and stay here for four additional years. Learning from my teammates and enjoying this Club makes me happy. I hope to win more titles and let’s hope it goes well from here on out.”

Positive overview

Torra, who has just finished up his second year as an Azulgrana, said that his run with the team so far has been fairly positive despite the fact that his first year didn’t yield titles: “It’s been pretty positive. My time here has been short but very positive. It’s true that in the first year things didn’t go too well on the collective level, but my second year was different. The arrival of the new managerial staff gave us that little bit of joy and feeling that perhaps was lacking the previous year.”

Growing both personally and professionally

Barça’s most dangerous man on offence recognised that when he arrived to the Club he couldn’t really describe what it meant to play for Barça. However, after living and breathing the Club for two years, the player said he has no problems describing the greatness of the Club he represents: “after two years I could give you a lot of adjectives that describe what Barça means to me, but I think it’s more important to enjoy each day and try to grow both professionally and personally.”
