Beto Borregán

The Palau Blaugrana is preparing to experience a magical afternoon, this time under the auspice of the Club’s roller hockey team, as one of the best players in the history of the sport will receive a well deserved tribute for his service to the Club. Beto Borregán, Barça’s ex-captain, will watch as his jersey with the number 21 will ascend the walls of the Palau Blaugrana to its final and eternal resting place alongside other great athletes that donned the Blaugrana strip. In addition to Borregán’s tribute, the team will play a match which is vital to win if the Blaugrana hope to keep their title hopes alive.

Epic Borregán

The ex-captain has a very long honours list for Club and country. Borregán won a total of 58 titles throughout his 18-year career, among the most notable are his 9 European Cup titles, 8 Continental Cups, 14 OK Ligas and 6 Copas del Rey (all of which were won with FC Barcelona). His international career is just as impressive as he claimed three European Championships (2000, 2002 and 2004) and one World Championship (2001).

Vital victory

It’s worth noting that today’s match is vital to Ricardo Muñoz and his men. Barça need to win if they are to remain within striking distance of league leaders HC Liceo, who defeated Noia Freixenet on Saturday.
