If a roller hockey player has a defective wheel he asks for an immediate repair and the technicians get to work and change the wheel out in a matter of minutes. This wasn’t the case, however, with the front wheel of the airplane that took FC Barcelona to Italy.

The players, managers and staff were, along with the rest of the passengers, delayed for 50 minutes on the tarmac due to an errant wheel. In the end, the plane, with a new front wheel, landed in the Milan Malpenza Airport an hour and 15 minutes later.

One hour drive and fighting off hunger

Upon arrival to Milan, the Barça team loaded into a motor coach which took them to their hotel. The hotel is 92 km from the airport. Luckily, the majority of the trip was on the highway. Once in Lodi, the players went to their rooms, changed into their official suits and quickly gathered for a meal. The team had not eaten since Barcelona.
