The OK Liga title is close, very close. A season after last year’s title slipped away, the Azulgranas are on the verge of reclaiming the Spanish OK Liga. The advantage over Liceo, second place, is 11 points with 12 still left in play.

FC Barcelona will have the first ‘match ball’ on Monday. Gaby Cairo’s men could be champions on the 14th at 20:30. The match will be broadcast live on Esport3 and Teledeporte.

The possible combinations

To be champions, before anything else, Barça must beat Calafell. Cairo’s men will only be champions with this result. Calafell, who were beaten by Barça away from the Palau by 1-3 on January 7, are a complicated rival, but the game is at the Palau.

After this Monday’s match there are three more match days (9 points in play), therefore if Liceo loses or draws their point balance will be 59 points at most. It’s a point balance that would make Barça champions.

On the other hand, if Liceo wins (60 points), Barça must win to claim the title, seeing that a draw would leave both teams level on 60 points, even though there’s still a Liga match at the Palau against Liceo. Therefore the team with goal-average advantage is still unknown.
