The Barça players celebrate the Super Cup triumph / VÍCTOR SALGADO - FCB

In early September, Barça won the first title of the year, the Super Cup, played in a new Final Four format. They first beat host club Reus Deportiu 3-2 with Pablo Álvarez scoring the winner in a grippingly tight contest.

Liceo were a tough opponent in the final, and led twice, but an Álvarez goal in overtime eventually secured the first silverware of the season, and the fourth Super Cup in a row and the the ninth in club history,
