Right wing

The Catalan wing stands out for his commitment and his eye for goal

Joan Saubich is Barça’s third signing of the 2013/14 season. The Girona-born player joins Xavi Pascula’s team after Nikola Karabatic and Kiril Lazarov were picked up earlier this summer.

Saubich was born in 1989 in the town of Sarrià de Ter, where he started playing handball at the young age of four. In 2004 he started playing for Barça’s youth teams and he made his debut for the first team in the 2007/08 season.

In the 2009/10 season he signed for BM Huesca, who play in the División de Honor B, and later he returned to Barça to play for the first team and the reserve team in the 2010/11 season.

In the 2011/12 season Barca loaned the player out to Huesca, and last year (2012/13) Saubich played in 29 matches and scored 152 goals, making him the fourth highest scorer in the Asobal. He was picked up by Naturhouse La Rioja. He started the preseason with Naturhouse, but on August 19 he was presented as an FC Barcelona player.
