FC Barcelona Lassa – Espérance Sportive: Into the Super Globe semis (42-24)

The blaugranes overcome the Tunisians in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup

Comfortable for Xavi Pascual’s Barça Lassa handball team. 42-24 was the final score over Espérance Sportive from Tunisia in the quarter-finals of the Super Globe tournament in Doha, Qatar with the blaugranes booking their place in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, the first official trophy on offer in 2017/18.

Barça dominated from the off and by half time they were 19-10 ahead with new signing Aleix Gómez in great form. He would later end the game as top scorer with no less than nine goals.

In the second half the pace dropped a little but Barça Lassa continued to extend their lead with a series of rapid counter attacks. The African side found it difficult to break down an organized Barça defence and Xavi Pascual’s men were able to manage their lead until the end of the game.

Barça Lassa will now face European Champions Vardar from Macedonia after their 30-22 quarter-final win over Naft-O-Gas Gachsaran from Iran.
