Eduardo Gurbindo scoring one of his six goals against Guadalajara / GERMÁN PARGA - FCB

FC Barcelona Lassa came through the test this Wednesday against BM Guadalajara with flying colours. Xavi Pascual’s team recorded their fifth win in the league and continue to improve , everybody getting on the scoresheet except the youngster Dujshbaev who once again came on for some valuable game time near the end. Gurbindo and Sigurdsson with six goals each were topscorers for the blaugranes who next face Pick Szeged in the Champions League.

Barça found it difficult to get going in the early stages but they were soon into the rhythm once Jicha and Kopljar had given them the advantage. Guadalajara tried to match Barça’s pace but poor finishing and an Saric in goal for the home side saw the lead stretched to 10-4. Ariño began to impress for Pascual’s side and his contribution allowed them to go in 21-11 up at half time.

In the second half Guadalajara improved defensively yet were incapable of stopping Barça building a 12 goal lead that was never really threatened in the remainder of the game. Noddesbo regaled the Palau with one of his trademark curling shots before promising young talents Dujsebaev and Álex Márquez came on, the latter scoring twice to round off a 40-24 victory. Barça Lassa have now won 66 matches in a row in the league, just one away from BM Ciudad Real’s record.
