107 games in domestic competition without defeat. FC Barcelona Lassa maintained their historic form with a home leg victory over Granollers in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey. The gulf in quality was just too much for the visitors with Xavi Pascual’s team controlling the contest and booking a place in the final four of the competition to be played at the beginning of May.

Despite having a seven goal lead from the first leg played on Wednesday in Granollers, Barça Lassa did not rest on their laurels and quickly moved into a 6-3 lead. In the 11th minute they achieved their biggest advantage of the first half when they went 8-3 up.

Xavi Pascual gave playing time to a wide variety of players with Tomàs, Jicha and Sypzrak also figuring at some point. Granollers fought back in before the break to come to within one goal of the home side before the half ended 15-13 to the blaugranes.

At 21-20 in the second half the visitors still appeared to be in the game but Barça moved up a gear and the final score of 32-24 reflected their dominance. The Barça handball team are now through to the Final Four of the Copa del Rey which will be played on 7 and 8 May at a venue still to be decided.
