Barça had little difficulty overcoming Esperance of Tunisia 37-23 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Super Globe with a one hundred per centre record. Wearing the new crimson kit, they leapt into command from the tenth minute, and the halftime scoreline of 20-10 made it clear that there was only really one team in it.

There were early uncertainties when they went 3-5 behind, but they soon turned that around to 9-5 and it was plain sailing from there on. Rutenka (6) and Tomàs (5) led the first half scoring.

The second half saw scorelines of 27-16 and 30-18 that were absolutely no cause for concern, and Barça did well to keep their heads and play with composure despite the win being so safe in their hands. Gonzalo was outstanding towards the end and it all ended with a fourteen point cushion (37-23).
