The Barça handball side picked up another victory away from home, this time at Ángel-Ximénez Puente Genil, to maintain their excellent post-World Championship form. Xavi Pascual’s team gave their opponents no chance in the game as they were almost perfect both in attack and in defence. In goal, Saric in the first half and Gonzalo in the second were safe as houses and in attack Victor Tomás and Sigurdsson scored six goals a piece to lead the scoring.

In the first half Karabatic and Sarmiento led the way going forward for the blaugranes. With Saric almost unbeatable, after 19 minutes Barça lead by 15-5. In the second half Xavi Pascual decided to ring the changes with Gonzalo, Ariño, Entrerríos, Sorhaindo, Rutenka and Lazarov all coming on. Rivas Puente Genil improved after the break but they were still no match for the blaugranes and coach Pascual had the luxury of giving some court time to promising youngster Oriol Rey as Barça went on to claim a comprehensive win in the Asobal League.
