The Icelandic winger reaches agreement with the Club for the next two seasons

Sigurdsson is coming to FC Barcelona from the German team THW Kiel. He was a former AG Copenhagen player and has a long career in the German Bundesliga in teams like Rhein Neckar Löwen, Gummersbach and Tussem Essen.

An experienced winger

Gudjón Valur Sigurdsson is coming to Barcelona at the age of 34.A long career that began in his native Iceland and followed up in the powerful Bundesliga and his ability to score goals, are the highlights in the wingers profile

As for titles, he’s won the Bundesliga twice with THW Kiel, the Danish League with AG Copenhagen, and the Icelandic League with KA Akureyri. With the national team he won a silver medal in Beijing 2008 and a European bronze in 2010. Sigurdsson has played in 4 of the 5 editions of the Final Four.

One of Sigurdsson’s greatest assets from the left wing is his capacity to score goals. He was second top scorer of the European Championships in Denmark in 2014 with 44 goals,  top scorer in the Bundesliga in 2006, and top goalscorer in the 2007 World Championships.
