Sandwiched in between two important Champions League games, Barça took to the court and claimed victory over Frigoríficos Morrazo this Tuesday by 24 to 37. This means the Blaugrana are one step away from the title. In fact, that can be champions this Saturday if neither Granollers nor Naturhouse La Rioja win their matches.

The team quickly took control of the match, but the inclusion of Cangas kept the home team close to the Blaugrana (3-4, min 6), and managed to take a surprising lead minutes later (5-4). Rutenka (4) and Saubich (4) scored Barça’s first eight goals, and thus once again gave their team the lead (6-8, min 11). From that point on Barça ran away with the match, and left the scoreboard showing 6-12 after 16 minutes.

The determining span of the match was a monster 0-10 run before the break. Barça’s defence was simply impenetrable thanks to Robin in goal. At the break Barça led 10 to 21, and the story didn’t change in the second half. Gurbindo took over on offence, while Seafín Pousada tired his best to keep the home side in the game (14-29).

The end of the match came with 24 to 37 on the scoreboard, leaving the Blaugrana one win away from the title.
