Dinamo Minsk – FC Barcelona: Second-half run seals the win (25-35)

A 0-6 run at the start of the second half seals the win for FC Barcelona in Minsk

FC Barcelona closed out the first half of the group phase with another victory. They did it in Minsk thanks to a 6-0 run at the start of the second half, which took the score from 15-16 to 15-22. The run put the game beyond reach for the home team and it secured the win for Barça, who are edging ever closer to the Round of 16.

Goals and equality

The Rutenka brothers, with a goal apiece, were the first to score in Minks. The match started off with a bang, and always with FC Barcelona with a narrow lead. Both teams showed their attacking power as 16 goals were scored in the first 11 minutes.

Dinamo Minsk took its first lead (12-10) near the end of the first half, but Xavi Pascual’s men reacted well as they regained the lead at the break (15-16).

A lethal run

The start of the second half decided the match. A 0-6 run for the Blaugrana gave Barça a massive lead of seven goals (15-22). Then Barça’s defence took over and kept the home team off the board for nearly eight minutes.

FC Barcelona controlled the rest of the half and cruised to a comfortable win that edges the team ever closer to the Round of 16.
