Kiril Lazarov signs for FC Barcelona Handball team

The Club have reached an agreement with the Macedonian player for the next two seasons.

Following this week’s signing of the Nikola Karabatic,the Club’s handball section have made their second addition to the squad. Bringing in the Macedonian right back Kiril Lazarov on a two-year deal.

Experience

The 33-year-old Kiril Lazarov,was born in Sveti Nikole (Macedonia) and has signed from BM Atlètico de Madrid, having previously played for RK Peliester, RK Zagreb, MKB Veszprém and BM Ciudad Real. Lazarov is also the captain of the Macedonian national team and has won 2 Macedonian Cups and Leagues, 7 leagues and 5 Cups in Croatia and 5 league and 5 Cup titles in Hungary.

In the Spanish League, Lazarov has played for BM Ciudad Real and BM Atlètico de Madrid and won 2 Super Cups, 3 Kings Cups, a Copa Asobal and a World Club Cup.

Top scorer

In the 2012/13 season, Lazarov was the Lliga Asobal’s third highest scorer with 157 goals in 29 games, he scored from 62% of his shots, being especially efficient from the 7 metre mark (76%) and on the counter (86%).

Kiril Lazarov was also the Champions League leading scorer in the 2005/06 and 2007/08 seasons and the top scorer in the 2009 World and 2012 European Championships.
