The handball section of FC Barcelona and Víctor Tomás have reached an agreement to extend the player's contract until the end of the 2015/16 season. After the signing, the player expressed his pleasure at the new deal: "I'm very satisfied to be able continue wearing the shirt of my team – Barça- for even longer".

Home grown talent

Víctor Tomás was born on December 15th 1985 and joined Barça's handball section in 1998, starting with the cadet section and working his way gradually up through the various levels before reaching the first team in the 2002/03 season.

He gradually earned a regular place in the team and is now one of the key members of Xavi Pascual's team, as well as being a regular international.

22 titles with the Club

Víctor Tomás has won 22 titles since he broke into the first team, amongst them two Champions Leagues (2004/05 and 2010/11), 3 Asobal Leagues(2002/03, 2005/06 and 2010/11) and 4 Spanish Cups (2003/04, 2006/07, 2008/09 and 2009/10).

With the Spanish national team, Tomas won a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
