The draw held in Vienna has paired up Xavi Pascual’s men with one of the most complicated opponents in the competition, AG Copenhagen. The away leg will be played in Denmark on the weekend of April 21st. The return leg will be at the Palau Blaugrana on the weekend of April 28th.

The most complicated rival

With the ex-Barça player, named the best player in the world, Mikel Hansen in the squad and two more ex-Barça players Joachim Boldsen and keeper Kasper Hvidt, AG Copenhagen is one of the most solid and talented teams in European handball.

The three ex-Barça players are accompanied by Cristian Malmagro, Toft Hansen, Olafur Stefansson and Lars Jorgensen.

The Danes come into the quarter-finals after finishing second in Group D, behind THW Kiel, and seeing off Savehof in the Round of 16.

First match

The quarter-finals between FC Barcelona Intersport and AG Copenhagen will be the first tie between the two sides, but FC Barcelona have a good record against Danish teams.

Barça have played against Danish teams on 19 different occasions in European tournaments. They’ve won 14 times, drawn 3 and lost twice.
