Barça Lassa picked up a morale-boosting win in Sunday’s Masters Cup against last year’s European runners-up Sporting Lisbon.

It was an intense encounter with some fine play from both sides, and with six seconds to go the sides were still locked at 3-3 when Esquerdinha robbed a ball to strike home a last-gasp winner.

Coach Andreu Plaza had to make do without goalkeeper Juanjo, who had back trouble, and Sergio Lozano, who is fast on the road to recovery from his own injury.

Barça Lassa’s final position in the tournament will dependo n the outcome of the game later today between Benfica and Inter.
