FC Barcelona Lassa v Catgas Energia: Victory in a spectacular derby (7-3)

Andreu Plaza's team secured three points in a fantastic game against their local rivals at a raucous Palau Blaugrana

The Catalan derby between FC Barcelona Lassa and Catgas Energia lived up to expectations. Almost 4,000 fans came to the Palau to watch the two best futsal teams in Catalonia take each other on in a fantastic atmosphere. Barça Lassa came out on top but they didn’t have it easy despite the 7-3 final score. Andreu Plaza’s team secured a vital win which puts them back in second place in the LNFS.

Roger Serrano starred with two assists and a goal and Adolfo clinically scored two as well. The rest of the goals came from Dyego, Rafa López, Ferrao and Joao, and they ensured that Barça got back to winning ways after the defeat against Xota.

Sentimental evening

Derby matches are always special and it was an even more emotional night for Rafa López and Adolfo who both played for Catgas before they moved to Barça. Both players got on the scoresheet with Adolfo scoring Barça’s first two. The blaugranas went behind initially before Adolfo put them 2-1 up. The away side’s Sergio González equalised before Barça’s Dyego made it 3-2 in a frenetic first half.

Catgas make it hard

Before the break, the opposition had a few chances to equalise and once the second half started they did just that to make it 3-3 in the 21st minute. Barça responded excellently and went on to establish a lead with goals from Roger Serrano and Rafa López. The 5-3 lead proved insurmountable and Barça were able to add a few late goals to put some gloss on the scoreboard. Ferrao made it safe and the Batista added the seventh to cap off a fantastic blaugrana performance in an exhilarating match.
