Barça Lassa have done it again. They made light of their absences to take home the points from one of the most difficult away grounds in the league. At the Pavelló d’Esports de Múrcia, against ElPozo, Andreu Plaza’s side secured a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Roger Serrano and Quintela. Third-placed Múrcia were thwarted by Barça's keeper Juanjo when they pressed for an equaliser and Barça went home having consolidated second place in the table.

The blaugranas started with a young side including Tolrà, Joselito and Roger Serrano. Andreu Plaza’s team pressed high up the pitch and the impressive Juanjo was alert to the danger of balls in behind. The movement and intensity were good and Barça Lassa were dominating. They were recovering the ball and counter-attacking rapidly. From one of these moves Joselito left his marker for dead and fed Roger Serrano who opened the scoring for the blaugranas in the eighth minute (1-0).

Quintela halts the host’s reaction

The team from Múrcia responded well to going behind and they went up a gear in attack forcing Juanjo into various saves. Andresito managed to hit the crossbar twice in a row from promising attacking positions. Barça had been warned and the equaliser duly arrived as Múrcia dispossessed Barça in attack and broke forwards with Pito providing the finish. Ferrao and Dyego were both presented with chances in quick succession but were unable to score and the two teams went into the break all level (1-1).

At the start of the second, the intensity remained high and Juanjo had to pull off some stunning saves to keep the home side out. Barça were under pressure until Quintela managed to score a fantastic goal completely against the run of play. From a throw in the Galician player used his heel to squeeze the ball past the home keeper.

Soaking up pressure

ElPozo Múrcia threw everything they had at Barça in search of an equaliser. They had to take more risks and Barça could have made them pay with Joselito, Roger Serrano and Adolfo all having chances. Juanjo again proved his worth to his team as he saved Bebe’s penalty. The Murcian side's intense pressure meant Barça had to dig deep in defence and fight for three crucial points, which keep them in second place and opens a gap with Múrcia, who are third.
