FC Barcelona – ElPozo Múrcia: No final for Barça (5-7)

The blaugranes knocked out of the league play offs after great game at the Palau

Barça’s season came to an end at the semi-final stage of the League play offs. A 7-5 defeat against ElPozo at the Palau in the third game of the tie bring the curtain down on their campaign, a hat-trick from former blaugrana José Ruiz the final nail in the coffin.

In the first half the blaugranes were thankful for an excellent performance from keeper Sedano. Nevertheless, even he failed to prevent Barça going in at the break 2-q down, Álex and Grello the scorers for ElPozo with Wilde scoring for the home side right on the hooter. In the second half Carmona’s side came right back into the contest – first Aicardo found an equalizer and then Lozano put Barça 3-2, finally there was hope. Ruiz scored twice to put the visitors back in front but Lozano again found a gap to make it 4-4.

Emotions were running high but when Ruiz added a third and Alex another to make it 6-4 to ElPozo, the writing was on the wall. Both sides found the net once more but it was not enough for Barça to progress to the final.
