The Barça futsal side were victorious in their second match of the Elite Round, breezing past Baku United by 5 goals to 1 in the Palau Blaugrana. The margin of victory could have been much wider for Marc Carmona's men as they dominated the encounter against the English side. An own goal by Saad gave Baku a faint hope in the second half but it was a false dawn with the blaugranes closing out a comfortable win to move within one game of a place in the Final Four.

Barça were focused from the outset knowing that in Baku United they were up against stronger opponents than in Wednesday's game against Hungarians Berettyóújfalu. Nevertheless, the blaugranes struck in the 6th minute through Brazilian Ferrao to take the lead. Baku keeper Cidao denied the home side on several occasions before Gabriel made it 2-0 after 12 minutes. Wilde hit the crossbar before Saad's goal gave Barça a comfortable 3-0 advantage at half time.

More goals in the second half

In the second half keeper Cidao once again frustarted the blaugranes with good saves from Lin and Wilde. Following a scrappy few minutes with neither side able to dominate possession, Baku came back into the match unexpectedly thanks to an own goal that made the score 3-1. However, the English side's hopes were dashed by another goal from Gabriel following a good pass from Ferrao. With twenty minutes remaining Barça were 4-1 up and in complete control - Lozano added a fifth to round off a victory that earns them a match against Lokomotiv Kharkov on Saturday for a place in the Final Four of this season's UEFA Futsal Cup.
