As the team and the fans celebrated the third straight league title on Friday night, Jordi Torras was full of praise for the Palau supporters: “It is incredible what this team and these fans are doing together”. Teammate Sergio Lozano echoed Torras’ feelings, claiming: “every title is special, but this is one for all our fans who are here”. Wilde was also quick to praise supporters: “they were spectacular today – there are no words for them – just a big thank you to all our fans”.

Carmona: “we couldn’t have won without the fans”

Coach Marc Carmona felt that as well as the fans – “I’m sure we couldn’t have won without them” - his players’ defending in the second half was key: “going 0-2 down really shaped the game, but I told the guys at half time that if we could defend well in the second half , we could win. One of the virtues of this team is that they have shown they still believe, despite the problems they’ve had to face and when the game is going against them. Winning the league for a third straight time hasn’t been easy – it’s a tough thing to do and it’s been a really complicated season for us. After losing the Champions, we won the Copa del Rey and we were really a bit weary coming into this series”.

Paco Sedano summed up the importance of the win, stressing: “ we’ve won the treble for three years on the run –that’s difficult to do”, whilst team mate Fernandao claimed: “we want to carry on winning and working hard. Maybe we’re not aware of what we’ve done right now, but one day we’ll look back on this and realise what a great thing we have achieved”.
