The second match of the final series ended in a victory for ElPozo Murcia after Barca Alusport had won the first match of the series at the Palau Blaugrana.

Barça Alusport started off the first half in powerful fashion but the keeper Rafa kept the Blaugrana off the board. Before the first minute of the match had passed, Saad and Lin both had chances to score the opener. Later it was Fernandao’s turn, but Rafa saved the attempt. Gabriel and Wilde were also denied by ElPozo’s man in goal.

Sedano makes his appearance

It took a while for ElPozo to get its attack really going, but it all started to click together when Miguelín came out onto the court. The duel with Paco Sedano was thrilling; the Barça Alusport keeper saved three consecutive chances. However, Sedano could do nothing to stop the first goal of the game. It was on 6 minutes when Bebe latched onto a corner kick and fired on goal, the ball took a deflection off Aicardo and quickly found its way to the back of the net.

Torras, on 14 minutes, received a pass from Lin and fired to bring Barça level, but the parity on the scoreboard wouldn’t last very long. Seconds later Álex breezed past Wilde and Saad and beat Sedano to make it 2-1 at the break.

Intense second half

The Blaugrana came out onto the court with a renewed sense of urgency in the second half, and their increased intensity bore its fruits after only three minutes when Wilde scored the equaliser. ElPozo, however, fired back on 28 minutes, when Miguelín beat Sedano with a long-range shot.

After this afternoon’s match, ElPozo and Barça Alusport are level at 1-1 in the final series for the league title.
