The Barça Alusport players were euphoric with their 1-3 win over Dynamo Moscow in the final of the UEFA Futsal Cup. Moreover, all the players highlighted the support the team received from the fans throughout the tournament. “The team was spectacular, the but the supporters were the best,” said Jordi Torras, who is very pleased with fulfilling the dream of winning the European Cup in an Azulgrana strip. “I came to this Club to win titles,” he said.

The footballers also highlighted the team’s work on the Catalan court. “We were pursuing this game for a long time and we couldn’t fail with these supporters behind us, without them we wouldn’t have been able to win it,” said the keeper Paco Sedano, who added that the team showed maturity after the Russians came within one goal (2-1).

Wilde, MVP of the final

The Cup was a little closer to ending up in Barça’s trophy cabinet after Wilde scored the first goal of the game after 80 seconds: “we always try to do the best job possible. It was important to score the first goal, that helped up a lot.” He added, “we have been waiting for this moment a long time. I’m very pleased with our fans. We have shown that we have a great team and that it’s hard to beat us.” Wilde was also named MVP of the match after putting in a brilliant performance against the Russians.

Marc Carmona, the leader of a championship-winning Barça

Serigo Lozano talked about the difficulty of beating such a good side like Dynamo Moscow. “We worked hard to reach our objective. They are a great team, with a lot of good individual players, but we’re the rightful winners,” he said.

Marc Carmona, the manager of the European Champions, also weighed in on his team’s performance in today's match. “We were impeccable. We suffered a little today, we were playing against an impressive team. We were sensational on defence. We deserve this title,” said the Barça manager.

“I’m very pleased because we’ve come through a lot to get here. The journey has been long and hard. We suffered a lot, but we won the title,” said the manager. He concluded by congratulating the fans for the “extraordinary atmosphere” at the Barris Nord in Lleida.

O’Callaghan and Raventó are proud of the team

Xavi O’Callaghan, the man responsible for the team, witnessed Barça’s victory at the Barris Nord in Lleida this evening. O’Callaghan said that “emotion is very important,” and he added that he’s “very proud of the players and Marc Carmona.” He went on to thank “all the people that are behind [the team], that are also responsible” for today’s victory. Joan Carles Raventós, director of the Barça teams, is also “very pleased, because this is a project that started in 2003.” He thanked “the fans and the city of Lleida for supporting” Barça Alusport.
