It has been an intense week for Barça Alusport. This Tuesday the team was paired up with Sporting Clube in the semifinals of the UEFA Futsal Cup and they saw off Inter Movistar in the King’s Cup for a spot in the coveted final. “We’re pleased, this is the sixth consecutive final we’re going to play. I’d like to dedicate getting to the final to Cristian, who couldn’t play for us, because I’m sure that being at home isn’t pleasant for him,” said Marc Carmona.

Sporting Clube, a “complicated” rival

On the UEFA Futsal Cup draw, held at the Camp Nou during halftime of the Barça-Milan match (3-1), the squad reacted with prudence. “The Final Four has the best four teams in Europe. Sporting is an uncomfortable rival, along with Dynamo, I think they are the strongest sides. Anything can happen in one game,” said team captain Javi Rodríguez.

Jodri Torras, along the same lines, said, “the three rivals in the Final Four are difficult. We know how complicated Portuguese teams are, they work hard and they play well, with Brazilian players ... I’m sure that Sporting will be a complicated rival.”

Before the final of the King’s Cup and the Final Four, however, Barça Alusport will take on Lobelle Santiago at the Palau Blaugrana (21:00 on Barça TV and Esport3).
