If the Palau Blaugrana was overjoyed with Marcelinho Huertas’ buzzer-beater three pointer yesterday, then today at 20:15, his futsal counterparts Ari Santos, Fernandao, Gabriel, Wilde and Igor will try to bring the same joy to the Barça supporters as FC Barcelona Alusport play for a spot in the LNFS Final. Marc Carmona’s team want to qualify for the final as soon as possible, and they’ll be made to work for it as Barça face a wounded yet dangerous rival in Inter Movistar.

How FC Barcelona Alusport come into the match

The Azulgranas, just like all the teams in this round of the competition, come into the match after a long and hard-fought 2011/12 season but with the ambition to keep on making history. After claiming the Spanish Cup, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, Marc Carmona’s men want more.

This Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva, the players completed their final training session before today’s decisive match. It was an easy going session, where the only absentee was Sargio Lozano, who could not attend for personal reasons. The Madrid native, however, is in perfect condition to play and he’ll be ready to do battle at 20:15. Wilde is also eager to get back onto the court as he'll try to add to his impressive goal haul. The Pichichi of the LNFS has scored 35 goals this season, 5 of which were netted in the playoffs.

The rival

Tonight’s rival, Inter Movistar, are a team with wounded pride after losing the first match of the semifinals to Barça - this makes them an even more dangerous opponent for the Azulgranas this evening. Inter, a team that have won every title in their history, have a very talented and competitive team. Despite missing the Brazilian Rafael, a player that usually has no problems scoring against Barça, Batería, Eka (who has scored against Barça seven times this season), Betao and the keeper Juanjo will be on the court as Inter attempt to extend the semifinal series to a final match (which would be on Saturday at 13:00). Hugo has been called up to replace Rafael.
