Marc Carmona has led his team to nine consecutive finals - two in the Liga, two in the Copa del Rey, two in the Spanish Cup, one Spanish Super Cup, one UEFA Futsal Cup and one Copa Catalunya. The Azulgrana manager considers that this “is a demonstration of the team’s quality, of the player’s commitment, of their eagerness to keep on getting to championship matches. It’s difficult but we’ve managed to do it against an extraordinary team. I place a lot of value on the 2 to 0 sweep.”

On Inter Movistar, Carmona believes that the Madrid side demanded the best from Barça and that “we had to give it everything we had if we wanted to win. We had a small advantage because we’ve been together longer.”

Barça’s good defence

Inter put it all on the line when they played with a keeper-player at the beginning of the second half, a risky, yet necessary move for a team that was fighting to stay in the competition. “After fighting back we were strong and they tried to stop our momentum,” said the manager who considers that “we defended really well. We weren’t necessarily on target with the balls we won back, that’s why we had a difficult go of it until the end.”

Here are some of the statements made by the Barça Alusport players after the match:

Javi Rodríguez:

“This team has become accustomed to winning and we don’t want to stop. It’s an obligation to get to each and every final.

“We’ve grown as a team and we’re pleased to have taken a step forward.”

Ari Santos:

“It was a challenge from the start of the season to get to the final and we’ve met that challenge.”

Cristian:

“We’re pleased that we qualified for the final and we’re just a step away from another title. Getting to finals has turned into a vice. It would mean four titles in one season if we win, a historic feat.”

ElPozo force a third match

Barça Alusport will have to wait to see who they will face in the Liga final after ElPozo Murcia beat Caja Segovia by 4-3 in the second match of the semifinal series thereby forcing a third and final match. The last match of the series will be played on Saturday.
