The Barris Nord in Lleida was coloured in red and blue as Barça Alusport qualified for the final of the UEFA Futsal Cup in their debut in the most prestigious European tournament. The Barça team continues to make history with today’s victory. Only one obstacle remains, the most difficult one: the final against Dynamo Moscow on Sunday (19:30).

Marc Carmona’s men, who were aware of what was on the line, jumped out onto the court with the determination to reach the final. Only 20 seconds had gone by when Ari Santos’ shot hit the post. Sporting Clube, a historic team in club futsal, closed themselves off and conceded possession to Barça. On three minutes the first goal came. Barça Alusport played their way through Sporting’s pressure and then Ari Santos finished off the play after a great assist from Wilde to open up the scoring. Barça was showing its quality and the fans responded in kind.

Fantastic first half

Orlando Duarte tried to send his men forward but Wilde, Barça’s goalscoring machine, Wilde, showed up to score Barça’s second with a good shot from right wing; the ball went under Benedito’s legs. The Brazilian has scored seven goals in the UEFA Futsal Cup so far. This happened in the ninth minute of play. Two minutes later, Igor scored a fantastic goal after a great piece of individual skill. Before the half, Javi Rodríguez, Barça’s captain, made it 4-0 after a great assists from Torras. It was a dream-like start for the Catalans.

Sporting Clube play a keeper-player

At the start of the second half, Sporting Clube played with a keeper-player to have greater presence on offence. Leitao, the best Sporting player on the court, tested Peco Sedano but the Barça keeper was simply impenetrable. He saved a penalty and he diverted a shot onto the woodwork. Barça made it five after a give-and-go between Lozano and Wilde on 31 minutes. With the 5-0 on the scoreboard, Djo pulled one back for his team with a beautiful goal. It was Sporting Clube’s goal of honour.

This result allowed Marc Carmona to rest two key players. Fernandao, who has muscle problems, and Cristian, who is hoping to recover for the final on Sunday. On the other hand, Torras, who has a toe injury, did play for a couple of minutes. The manager will have all of his players available to play on Sunday.

Dynamo Moscow, the rival in the final

The Russian team beat Italy’s Marca Futsal by 3-0 to get to the final. Fernandinho and Rómulo, who scored two, were Dynamo’s goal scorers. The team led by Tino Pérez, who has a couple of Russian internationals in his squad and some very good Brazilians, dominated the entire match. Marca Futsal tried to fight back at the end of the match but they could do nothing to overturn the Russians’ advantage.
