El Barça Alusport guanya la Lliga, la UEFA Futsal Cup, la Copa d'Espanya i la Copa del Rei durant la temporada 2011/12.

Barça Alusport have closed out the 2011/12 season having secured four out of five possible titles. Marc Carmona’s men defended the Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Cup, and they added the UEFA Futsal Cup to their already impressive trophy haul. Only the defeat in the Spanish Super Cup slipped away in Barça’s historic season.

Stumble in the Super Cup

Barça Alusport won the right to play for the first time in its history in the Spanish Super Cup. The tournament was played in September in Torrejón de Ardoz. Besides Barça, ElPozo Murcia, Inter Movistar and Carnicer Torrejón also featured in the Cup. Carmona’s men faced off against Murcia in in the semifinals, a team they eliminated with a convincing 7 to 2. In the final, against Inter, Barça lost by 3 to 4. The result broke Barça’s triumphant run of three consecutive titles won.

Successful defence of the Spanish Cup

Barça Alusport travelled to Logroño, host city of the Spanich Cup 2012, with the objective of defending the title they had won the previous year. The Azulgranas made their debut in the competition with a 0-3 over Caja Laboral. In the next round, Barça saw off Inter Movistar by 4 to 1. Santiago Lobelle awaited in the final, a team that fought hard for 40 minutes and forced an overtime after a two-all draw. It was then that Barça Alusport stepped up its game and finished the match by 5 to 3.

Heaven in Europe

In the month of April Barça Alusport won for the UEFA Futsal Cup for the first time in the history of the Club. The Azulgranas, who made their debut in the competition thanks to the fact that they had won the the Liga the previous year, won in the Final Four played in Lleida against Dynamo Moscow by 1-3. Carmona’s men in Europe were simply unstoppable, they won seven and tied once out of eight games.

Once again, King of Cups

Antequera was the venue for the Copa del Rey final. The math between Barça and ElPozo Murcia proved to be an exciting and worthy showdown. The Azulgranas were bidding to win their second Cup in as many years after eliminating Centelles, Sala 10 Zaragoza, Fisiomedia Manacor and Inter Movistar. The match against Murcia was electric and Carmona’s men ended up winning the match -the third title of the season- thanks to a 6 to 3 scoreline.

Champions of the Liga

Barça Alusport finished the regular season of the Liga in second place behind ElPozo Murcia. In the playoffs, the Barcelona side eliminated Carnicer Torrejón in two matches (1-2 and 5-2) and in the semifinals they saw off Inter Movistar (4-5 and 7-4). Carmona’s men had earned a ticket to the final series for the second time in as many years, and in the final ElPozo awaited. The Murcianos came into the final with home-court advantage and with a certain eagerness to exact revenge on a side that had deprived them of the Copa. The final, a best-of-five series, went Barça’s way in the fifth and final match at the Palacio de Deportes thanks to a 3 to 6 scoreline.
