Edwin Jackson


A quick guard who is good on one on ones and an excellent shooter

Edwin Jackson was born on 18 September 1989 in Pau in France. His basketball career began with Asvel Basket in the 2007/08 season with whom he won the French Cup. The following two seasons Jackson played at JSF Nanterre (2008/09) and then SPO Rouen Basket (2009/10) before returning to Asvel where he played the next four seasons.

In 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014 he was named in the All Star Pro A team and in 2012/13 he was named best French player in the Pro A league.

In 2013/2014 his excellent performances led to a place in the French squad for the 2014 World Championships where he was part of the bronze medal winning side.

After playing for FC Barcelona in the 2014/15 season, Jackson spent two more seasons in the Endesa League with first Unicaja (2015/16) and then Estudiantes (2016/17) where he was chosen in the league’s top 5 team and where he ended the campaign as MVP and top scorer. After a spell in China with Guangdong Southern Tigers, he signed for FC Barcelona on 29 January, 2018 on a contract until 30 June 2018. 

Technical profile

Jackson is a guard with ample experience in European basketball, most notably in France. He is a quick and strong guard, two characteristics that allow him to be excellent on one on ones. Jackson is also an excellent shooter both on the inside and outside.
