Justin Doellman

Forward

Doellman was Barça's first reinforcement for the 2014/15 season. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA), but grew up in Union, Kentucky, where he started playing basketball at the age of 9. He played college ball at Xavier University, majoring in communication arts/advertising and minoring in business and amassing more than 1,400 career points in 132 matches.

After going undrafted in 2007, Doellman began his career in Europe. His first stop on the Old Continent was in France, where he played for Cholet, Besançon and l’Entente Orléanaise until, in the 2010/11 season, he came to Spain to play for Meridiano Alicante. One year later he played for Asignia Manresa and the following season he signed with Valencia Basket, where he became a key piece on one of the league's top teams.

In 2013/14 he was a runner-up in the Spanish Cup with Valencia and gained notoriety after winning the Eurocup and being named finals MVP.

The American power forward with Barça has become one of the most valued players in the league, fixing himself firmly amongst the best scorers and rebounders as well as being one of the players with most steals in the game.

Technical profile

Justin Doellman is a power forward who stands out due to his athleticism and versatility. He moves very well without the ball and can score in the post, in transition and is dangerous from three-point territory.

He is very tough to cover and has excellent ball-handling skills, enabling him to easily take smaller defenders to the basket. If they put a bigger body on him, he will take a step back and dial it up from long range. On top of all that, he can really hit the boards and is a deft shot-blocker. Truly a fantastic all-around player.
